My Red Kitchen Reveal

Welcome to My Red Kitchen!

I have always wanted a red kitchen so when we purchased this house almost 6 years ago and I saw these abundant white cabinets and seven large windows
I was excited to start painting right away!  Especially because it started out as a light PINK! Hated It!!!

But now...LOVE IT!
I tried to match the deep red color as close as I could to a dark red brick color.

The island is large enough to seat all six of us!
In addition to that our table also seats six.
Our dining room is through the doors to the left and seats another 8 people.
It is such a fantastic space for entertaining!

Cabinets and Storage Galore!

I'll even let you peek inside the cabinets, although I admit they are not usually this organized but lately I have been an organizing fool!

Here is the view of our breakfast room looking towards our back door.

Next to the back door is my secretary cabinet that I inherited from my grandmother
 (L O V E)
I like to keep pretty glass vases in there away from the "bull in a china store"  kiddos.

Across from our breakfast room table is our little desk nook.  I love how the kids' online activities are in full view.  This is also where I blog, yep with that huge monitor that MyLove insisted on buying.  We lovingly refer to it as "command central"

And finally here is my favorite saying above our pantry door...

Fitting isn't it?
It's a shame that I have all of this space but do not enjoy cooking in it.  Don't get me wrong though, I spend a ton of time in here and being in this space makes me very happy.

Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you enjoyed
My Red Kitchen.

In all honesty, it is RARE that the kitchen stays this way.  If you would like to take a look at how crazy it can get then check out this post from last year:

I love it! My kitchen is almost the same color red. I painted my old oak cabinets antique white and my counter with granit paint. I love the red walls and used the chef accessories also. You will love it for years to come. Congrats!

It's gorgeous! Having a beautiful kitchen is even more important when you don't like to cook--I know this from personal experience.

Now, Tami, you know I absolutely love a red kitchen. When we moved in our home, the first thing I did was skip trowel the walls and paint them red. Our cabinets are light, so I love the contrast. It feels so warm. I love it!

It's beautiful! I love the deep dark red as a back drop for all the white. Perfection! (But then again, red is my favorite color so I might be just a little bit biased!)

Tami, you have a dream kitchen...7 windows...I'd love to have! Red looks great and I've been considering having red and green throughout my house. Not in the all traditional Christmas reds and greens, but ones which would blend in well with those. I've finally come around to enjoy the lighter greens at Christmastime, too. Red and white are gorgeous in your kitchen for sure.

What a beautiful space you have, and I really like the color. It's very refreshing to see bold color when so many are doing the all-white thing. I prefer color, myself!

Oh, I've just discovered your blog and I love it. Your kitchen area is so nice. I have a small little kitchen but about four years ago it had been almost the same color of red as yours. Then I went pale yellow! Two coats of primer and three coats of paint later. But red is still one of my favs. I just love your glass fronts on some of your cabinet doors.
Be a sweetie and pop by to see me sometimes.
Shelia ;)

I love it. We've had red in our last two kitchens. Yours looks great. The secretary is gorgeous too! Visiting from FMFPTY.

Red is a friendly and inviting color; you will notice that many restaurant chains use this color to attract customers. The chef figurine caught my eye. It’s one of the well-loved things in your kitchen, no? Also, I feel the sense of balance with the red and white color combo. It’s beautiful, Tami. Job well done!

SEVEN large windows? Wow! That’s too many and I think that’s what’s best for your kitchen. Well, as I can see in your photos, placing the blinds helped a lot in adding the curb appeal in your home. I’m so fascinated by your red kitchen and I think this will work a lot in my mom’s house. Unfortunately, she’s not a red fanatic like me. :)
