What do Tables, Tea Party, Doors and Pork Chops Have in Common?

How has your week been?  Mine has been great so far.   It started off with the usual neighborhood
Curb Alert!  Let me tell you that my daughter may not ever ask me for a ride to a slumber party again due to pure embarrassment when I pulled over a few doors down from the tween party girl's house!  Maybe next time she will ask dad to be her taxi instead  :)
*no one saw us I swear!

Poor lonely reindeer, don't you think he will feel better when he is reunited with his Santa and Sleigh?

You can read more about them in my Outdoor Holiday Decor Post.

Now on to answering the Post Title
"What do Tables, Tea Party, Doors and Pork Chops
 Have in Common"?
Nothing really, just the random things that I have been working on the last few days.

Now that the kids are back in school and I have found myself organizing like a fool.  On Tuesday I started with my son's room and completely cleaned out his closet and under the beds.  Believe you me, that was quite a chore. (four hours worth)

I added his pile to the pile of clothes that my girls and I went through and headed to Goodwill to donate them.  It's amazing how much extra stuff we have just sitting in our closets and never wear.  It's a shame actually.

New Projects:  Work In Progress

I am very excited to finally work on some projects again.  I was experiencing a bit of DIY withdrawal over the holidays as we were more busy with family and Christmas decor.  The projects are not completed yet but I worked pretty fast for only two days.

Vanity Mirror/Table
First up is this vanity mirror/table that my friend gave to me to makeover for one of my girls.  I was finally able to fix it a bit and give it a coat of spray paint.  Now waiting to rework the table top for it.  I decided to go with the black iron look and add a wood table top.
Fingers crossed!

A few months ago I found a little wood table at Goodwill for $9.  I am planning on refinishing or painting it for Buttercup to use as her little
Tea Party Table

She is currently using this patio table that I repainted for her kitchen makeover.   It's time she move up to a real table, don't you think?

It's a bit beat up so not sure yet if it will get stained or a new coat of paint. We shall see.

Front Door Refinishing

Today I worked on our front door.  It is weathered and in desperate need of a makeover.  So I sanded and sanded and sanded (not by hand).

Funny how one project leads to another, the whole time I was sanding I was thinking about adding new weatherstripping, new hardware, painting the molding, staining my kitchen floors...the list goes on.
But one step at a time so lets just get the door done, right?

Remember I am not a pro so I just sanded it right there in the door frame.
Who needs a carpenter anyway.
I love the process of staining/refinishing and
cannot wait to see how it turns out!

Finally, I actually did complete a project and cooked tonight's
Pork Chop Dinner

It tasted as good as it looks and got rave reviews from the fam.  I cooked three times this week.

Pork Chop Dinner

I'm on a roll, maybe I should turn Curb Alert! into a food blog!  Kidding, that will never happen.
But I will share the recipe for the pork chops in my next post so stay tuned!
