I Do Have My Limits!

Welcome to my world.

While I am in the midst of completing some of my other finds and their beautification process for their big reveals, I decided to show you how I spend some of my mornings.  Well only on trash days only on Monday and Thursday mornings around here.
I know, I know you thought it was all glamorous, well here is the real story of my typical Monday (yesterday’s details)…

While out scavengering driving the kiddos to school this morning I got a little excited.  Right before my eyes was a navy blue wing-back chair just waiting for trash pick-up me to say hello.  I have dreams of two matching wing back chairs in my bedroom so this would fit the bill pretty well.  Retail they could run up into the hundreds and sometimes resale would be the same, especially if I want two!  I could hear My Love whispering “WE DON’T NEED ANY MORE CHAIRS!”  Okay I guess my mind is reliving him STRESSING the point so I decided to just drive on to school and spare my kiddos the embarrassment of me pulling over.  Actually I probably would have just out of curiosity but we have my daughter’s friend in the car as well, and I think my LadyBug would never let me live it down.

Well to my surprise it was still there when I returned to the neighborhood so I decided to just spend a few quick minutes to further study it.  Can’t hurt, right?  Umm, well, a little shabby if I do say so myself!  Here is a closeup!

Can I tackle that kind of project?  Where has the chair been if it’s in that kind of condition?  It’s in front of a very wealthy home but you never know!  Although I am very crafty I am reminded of the great finds of the past that I have placed high hopes in that resulted in being thrown out on my own curb.  I purchased a simple upholstered chair a few years ago for only $10 at a garage sale, spent $30 on new fabric and materials and then it sat for about a year in my living room.  I finally got rid of it.
At the moment I have an ottoman shoved located in the back of my closet awaiting his grand re-do and months later it is still sitting.  If I cannot even get started on the simple ottoman how do I expect to tackle a large chair? But then again if I just move on will I regret it?  So much of a dilemma in my head all before 7:30 a.m.!!!
I then decided I’LL PASS!
After all, I do have my limits 🙂
Hopefully someone will grab it and turn it into something nice.  Just not this girl.
Oh…and I passed on these items as well – My Love would be proud.
and this, and this, and this …
Too bad I already have a bike trailer or I would have swiped that up in a heartbeat!
Check out the wine fridge!
I draw the line at really having to dig.  I am more of a scoop up and go kind of girl!
What the heck is this?  I don’t even want to know what they have stored in there!

Okay, maybe I grabbed a few items, sorry My Love!…
Happy Scavengering! (wait, is that a word? Well it is now!)

It sounds like I'm not the only one who has a husband that rolls his eyes every time I bring something back from "picking" LOL!!!

Luckily my husband is great about it (most of the time!) Glad to see there are others that enjoy it as well, although hope you don't live too close to me or I would consider you competition! LOL! 🙂
