Pedestal Sign {Curbside PlantStand?}

Some evenings I run across a pile like this and think “cool, furniture!”  I take a quick picture, scoop it up into my car real quick, gather anything else that looks interesting and move on.

That’s the beauty of curb shopping at night when it is dark and you cannot see many details until you get home.  There are definitely sometimes regrets.  Once I saw these chairs in the light, I realized that they were too worn and damaged to do anything with so back to the curb they went.  I did keep the metal shelves and think a quick coat of spray paint will do the trick to revive them again.
I’m thinking bathroom towel rack?

I pulled out of the pile what looked like a little table or plant stand, except with a few missing legs.  It still intrigued me so was a keeper.  I love the little post welcome signs that I have seen around (I apologize that I cannot find the source of this pic) and decided that was what I would do with it.  Just turn it upside down and good to go! (well not quite – still needed a little more work)
I had to first remove the broken legs and puddy up the holes.

The small table top piece was broken so I replaced it with a small cutting board that I had on hand.  The perfect fit and with some wood glue and a few nails she was good and sturdy!

I purchased these cabinet knobs for $5 at a garage sale months ago.  They were samples from a high-end cabinet store.  I looked it up online and each knob sold for $18 each!  OUCH!!!  I just loved them and thought that maybe my crafty self could find something to do with them.  Aren’t they cute!  If I had the money I would outfit my entire kitchen with the floral or fleur knobs!  I have 35 knobs in my kitchen so it is likely that I will not be able to convince MyLove to purchase them.  You do the math – Wow!!!

I just chose a cute one and attached it to the pole to act as a hanger.  Now that my pedestal pole, whatever you may call it, is finished – I am ready to put on the finishing touch!
I decorated the crosses that I used in the KidzSpace Christmas packages with in December and added some wording on them with gold stickers.  I was running out of letters hence the capital E on the end, looks okay to me though.
I like the versatility of it and how I can use it inside or out.
Here it is with a chalkboard sign that I previously had in my kitchen.  I actually like the silver better with it and think I will keep it that way for now or a day or so until I change my mind again!
I love projects like that, fast, easy and free – works with me!
Hope you all have a great weekend.  Don’t forget to set your clocks and “spring forward”
Happy Treasure Hunting!

What a cute way to display a welcome sign. I can't believe the things you find on the curb.
    Have a great weekend.

LOVE your finds! I have found chairs too that were too worn to be used, but they look CUTE in the garden with plants growing up them or with potted plants in the seats! 🙂

We all get pieces that we think we can save and can't. Sigh. Salvage is another whole ballgame. You can always make something out of that! ~ Maureen

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder!
You have a creative eye and are very handy – to be able to turn the "junk" into treasure. Good job!
