I must disclose that I am not a fashionista, so this is as remotely close to a fashion blog as it will ever be. Now, don’t be jealous of my boots. And don’t try to run out there to find them at Saks because they are authentically one of a kind! But you can make your own duct tape boots and have some fun!
I know how much you would like to copy me and my style sense:P
But you will just have to envy me for now in my awesomeness while wearing these amazing boots!!! Just be content that you know someone like me brave enough to wear them and adore my glory 🙂
Silly, I know but it was a fun little project! LadyBug and her friend were itching for something constructive to do during their sleepover last night. In a desperate attempt to keep them quiet busy at 11pm, I came up with this idea.
How I came up with the duct tape boots idea
I had seen some pictures of using duct tape to tape over some baby shoes and more on heels. Soo cute! And I thought: why not apply that to an old pair of boots?
I had a pair of old worn boots that I have had forEVER. They were put away, and I haven’t worn them in years because they were so uncomfortable. I promise I did not find them on the curb but this project was FREE, since we had all items on hand so I had to share with you on Curb Alert!
LadyBug and her friend’s eyes lit up when I asked them to cover my boots however they chose to. Luckily LadyBug had plenty of duct tape on hand to choose from – here is her stash!

They are both quite crafty so I had complete confidence that they would come up with something spectacular.
Each girl chose a boot and embellished their own. I am so proud of how they coordinated them for me so I don’t look like a complete weirdo when I wear them.
They turned out awesome!
Posing with my cool boots
The girls wanted me to pose with them, but I had a hard time finding an outfit that doesn’t look completely ridiculous so here you have it – the cropped of version of me.
I am definitely keeping them though, because they are too darn cute to give up. I am known to dress up from time to time for Halloween, so I am sure I can find a costume that they would be perfect with.
Too much, or too pimped out? Maybe so, I know but how fun would it be to embarrass the kids w/the boots! I’ll find something and have fun with it!
For now I may just have to show up at their school like this (more my style of dress code)…
I love my LadyBug!!!

Holy Smokes! So do great minds think alike OR WHAT?!!!! I zebra duck taped a pair of old boots a few days ago!!!!! But uhhh, shall I say I actually wore them to our church's annual Bible conference on Saturday?!!! Okay, so they weren't QUITE as crazy as yours, though I sure do love yours and would probably be be bold enough to wear them out – but my kids aren't old enough to be embarrassed by me yet!! haha! Way to go girl! I'll blog mine soon……

Those boots are awesome! ~ Maureen
Wow what a great "female" use of duct tape!
Stopping by from 21 Rosemary Lane to thak you for your comment and to let you know that I used regular old can spraypaint in a gloss for my French Cabinet piece! Very easy to spray paint…it was the gold leafing I did by hand which took a bit more effort!
Have a great week!
I think these are just the cutest things ever. Great idea! Thanks for sharing.
Too cute! The girls did good!
Too cute- and you can't even tell!
Those are adorable. I have a few friends that have made quite a few things from duct tape. Not at cute as your boots though.
After checking your boots out again I would love to share on my blog. I am collecting tutorials although this isn't a tutorial I would still love to share.
Awesome!!! I'm amazed at how the duct tape looks like it adheres perfectly to the boot! Great project!

Hi – I found you via the Sunday Social at The Sasse Life. I love these boots. First of all I am a huge fan of anything duct tape. Secondly, I am always doing something to restore my daughter's shoes/boots/sneakers and although I have not done duct tape yet – you can bet I will. So far I have used glaze, mod podge, fabric, paint and spray paint. She is always the talk of the school with my creations. So kudos on the boots – they are awesome. I am also your newest follower – feel free to stop by TheStuffofSuccess and say hello. Thanks and have a great week. Athena
Too cute! And the boots are cute too! I could do this with my Wellies!
