I blame my sister for this silly post! She has gotten me hooked on feeding the birds!
We have all made our own peanut butter pine cone bird feeders as kids, right? I figured it was time to teach Buttercup how to make one.
We already had all of the supplies on hand and it was so easy!

Do you need a tutorial? Well here is one, just in case!

Here’s what you need:
pine cones
creamy peanut butter
birdseed
knife
plate
twine/ribbons

Spread the peanut butter all over the pine cones with a butter knife. There’s no rhyme or reason, just spread it on there thick!
We left the tops of the pine cones showing so that we can have something to tie our twine to.

Okay, this is getting messy so might as well invite a few friends to join in the fun!
Completely cover the pine cones with peanut butter, lick the excess off of your fingers, and then roll your pine cones into a plate full of bird seed until it is completely covered in seeds.

Tie some twine/ribbons around the tops of the pine cones and hang up in the trees and you are done!
Enjoy sitting back and watching the birds feed on your new creations.

We have already had a few birds come by and visit but quickly finding out they don’t stick around very long due to our two birdwatchers constantly checking on it all!
Sheesh!!!

All that matters is that the kids had a blast making their own bird feeders!
I hope you enjoy making some as well!

Oh my! HOW CUTE! And so SMART! I must make these asap! Love em!
What fun!! When you have kids, bird feeders are a must! My mother has a bunch of feeders right outside the window where her chair is. We all enjoy her birds, there is such a variety! I'll be passing along the recipe!
